Portable Power Quality Analyzer for Real-Time Monitoring
Portable Inspector V4 is an advanced portable power quality analyzer designed for 24/7 real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance. It combines electrical power-quality analysis, environmental monitoring, grounding measurements and critical equipment monitoring in one portable, battery-backed system.
The system is suitable for medical equipment, industrial facilities, data centers, renewable-energy systems, telecommunications infrastructure, IT facilities and building management systems.
Portable Power Quality Analyzer with Dual Isolated Channels
Portable Inspector V4 provides two isolated power-quality channels, with five voltage inputs and five current inputs per channel. It supports the following electrical configurations:
- Single-phase, two-wire systems
- Three-phase, three-wire delta systems
- Three-phase, four-wire star systems
The analyzer measures voltage from 0 to 1000 VRMS with ±0.5% accuracy and current from 0 to 1000 A with ±2% accuracy. A 24-bit ADC and a sampling rate of 32 KSPS for each input provide detailed acquisition of electrical parameters and power events.
Comprehensive Power Quality Measurements
Portable Inspector V4 measures and analyzes a wide range of electrical parameters, including:
- RMS line-to-line and line-to-neutral voltage
- RMS current and current crest factor
- Active, reactive and apparent power
- True, displacement and demand power factor
- Active, reactive and apparent energy
- Voltage and current total harmonic distortion
- Harmonics and interharmonics
- Voltage and current unbalance
- Frequency and voltage flicker
- K-Factor and phase-sequence detection
- Voltage and current waveforms
IEC-Classified Electrical Event Detection
The portable power quality analyzer detects electrical events according to IEC 61000-4-30 power-quality classifications, including:
- Voltage dips and swells
- Voltage interruptions
- Voltage transients
- Rapid voltage changes
- Frequency variations
- Inrush current
- Total harmonic distortion
- Phase-sequence events
Each event is recorded with five cycles before and five cycles after the event, helping maintenance teams investigate disturbances and identify their possible causes.
Environmental and Grounding Monitoring
Portable Inspector V4 extends monitoring beyond electrical parameters. The standard unit supports three temperature sensors, while optional sensors can measure humidity, pressure, flow and other analog parameters through two 4–20 mA inputs.
Grounding measurement capabilities include:
- Earth current measurement from 0 to 10 A
- Earth resistance measurement up to 200 Ω
- Tripping and non-tripping measurement methods
Optional THPAQ modules can monitor temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, air quality, CO₂, TVOC, NOx, particulate matter and vibration. An optional Motor Measurement Unit can also monitor motor, pump and compressor current consumption non-invasively.
