Product Overview
Stationary Power Quality Analyzer for 24/7 Monitoring
Inspector INS4-1 is an advanced stationary power quality analyzer designed for continuous 24/7 monitoring and predictive maintenance. Once installed, it monitors power quality, electrical parameters, environmental conditions and other critical facility parameters without the monitoring gaps associated with temporary field surveys.
The system is suitable for medical equipment, industrial facilities, data centers, renewable-energy installations, telecommunications infrastructure, IT facilities and building management systems.
Power Quality & Measurements
Dual Isolated Power Quality Channels
Inspector INS4-1 provides two isolated power-quality channels. Each channel includes five voltage inputs and five current inputs, allowing simultaneous monitoring of two independent electrical sources or feeders.
The analyzer supports:
- Single-phase, two-wire systems
- Three-phase, three-wire delta systems
- Three-phase, four-wire star systems
- Simultaneous monitoring of utility and UPS output
- Monitoring of two independent feeders
Voltage measurements cover 0 to 1000 VRMS with 0.1 VRMS resolution and ±0.5% accuracy. Current measurements cover 0 to 1000 A with 0.1 A resolution and ±2% accuracy.
A 24-bit ADC and a sampling rate of 32 KSPS for each input provide detailed acquisition of electrical waveforms and power-quality events.
Comprehensive Electrical Measurements
This stationary power quality analyzer measures and records:
- RMS line-to-line and line-to-neutral voltage
- RMS current and crest factor
- Active, reactive and apparent power
- True, displacement and demand power factor
- Active, reactive and apparent energy
- Voltage and current total harmonic distortion
- Harmonics and interharmonics
- Voltage and current unbalance
- Voltage and current waveform peaks
- Frequency and voltage flicker
- K-Factor and phase-sequence detection
- Power demand values
Events & Monitoring
Electrical Event Detection
Inspector INS4-1 detects electrical disturbances according to IEC 61000-4-30 power-quality measurement classifications.
Detected events include:
- Voltage dips and swells
- Voltage interruptions
- Voltage transients
- Rapid voltage changes
- Frequency variations
- Inrush current
- Total harmonic distortion
- Phase-sequence events
The system captures the beginning and end of each event, including five cycles before and five cycles after the disturbance. This helps maintenance teams investigate incidents and identify whether problems originate upstream or downstream.
Environmental and Grounding Monitoring
Inspector INS4-1 combines electrical analysis with environmental monitoring. The standard system supports three external temperature sensors covering 0°C to 85°C with ±0.5°C accuracy.
Additional monitoring capabilities include:
- Earth current measurement from 0 to 10 A
- Earth resistance measurement up to 200 Ω
- Tripping and non-tripping grounding measurement
- Two 4-20 mA analog sensor inputs
- Optional humidity and temperature sensors
- Pressure, flow and process sensor integration
Expandable Monitoring Modules
Inspector INS4-1 can be expanded with specialized modules:
- THPAQ R1: Monitors temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, CO₂, TVOC, NOx, particulate matter, air quality and vibration.
- THPAQ R2: Monitors temperature, relative humidity and barometric pressure.
- MMU: Provides non-invasive current monitoring for motors, pumps and compressors using split-core current transformers.
- SIB: Connects up to eight 4-20 mA industrial sensors per module, with support for cascading multiple units.
- SMU: Measures ambient hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide in industrial environments.
Communication and System Integration
Inspector INS4-1 can integrate with monitoring, automation, SCADA and building management systems through:
- HTTP and HTTPS
- Modbus
- BACnet
- IEC 61850
- DNP3
- MQTT
- SNMP
- IEC 62056
